American Veterinary Group's Piedmont Equine Associates seeks an Equine Intern to join our General Practice Hospitals team. This year-long program offers exposure to a wide variety of medical and surgical cases, mentorship from senior clinicians, and a path to becoming a well-rounded equine veterinarian.

As an intern you will contribute to patient care, support staff development, and participate in client communication while rotating through clinical services and continuing education

Qualifications

• DVM/VMD degree from AVMA-accredited college.
• Active license to practice in the state of employment.

Responsibilities

• Lead veterinarian role in clinic while maintaining leadership, trust, and respect.
• Support staff development through the LevelUp clinical training program.
• Promote exceptional client experience to strengthen human-animal bonds.
• Manage multiple patients and varying priorities within timeframes.

Education

We are excited to add an Equine Intern to our team! There is an opportunity to see a wide variety of medical and surgical cases, learn from senior clinicians and surgeons, and develop into a competent, well-rounded, practicing equine veterinarian in a year. This position would be a great opportunity for a new graduate looking for mentorship across all areas of practice. Our interns’ education and experience are a top priority as they are the future of equine veterinary medicine!

Key Responsibilities

• Veterinarian’s role in the Clinic is a position of leadership, trust, and respect and shall conduct themselves accordingly
• Support the development of staff members through support of the Company’s LevelUp clinical training program
• Promote the human-animal bond through exceptional client experience
• Manage multiple patients and varying priorities within allotted timeframes

Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise

• DVM/VMD degree from an AVMA accredited college (or successful completion of the ECFVG or PAVE program).
• Active license in good standing to practice in the state in which candidate will be employed (or the ability to obtain a license in that state).
