Job summary

Plexus Corp in Neenah, WI is seeking an Industrial Design intern to contribute to product development across mechanical, electrical, software and quality teams. You will collaborate on cross-discipline projects and apply user-centered design methods.

You are pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, preferably as a sophomore or junior with a 3.0 GPA. Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and SolidWorks is preferred, plus strong sketching, form development, and 3D rendering experience.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design for the duration of the internship.
• Sophomore or junior status with a 3.0+ GPA preferred.
• Strong sketching and form development skills required.
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and SolidWorks preferred.
• Experience with 3D rendering (KeyShot) and model-making is a plus.

Hourly Rate:

$23 - $27/hr.

OVERVIEW

Contribute to industrial design efforts in various stages of product development for customers in each of our market sectors. You will work on cross-discipline teams composed of mechanical, electrical, software, product, and quality engineers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Help develop user-centric design solutions that solve complex problems

• Participate in brainstorms, internal project reviews, client meetings

• Support cross-discipline product development teams

• Support all aspects of user research and testing

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Student working toward a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design for the entire duration of internship.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Sophomore or Junior level status

• GPA: 3.0 or higher is preferred

• Strong sketching and form development skills

• Adobe Creative Suite tools Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign

• 3D rendering (Keyshot preferred)

• Experience with SolidWorks is desired

• Model-making skills (foam core, foam, rapid prototyping, etc.)

• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to articulate and present ideas internally/externally
