Job summary

Plexus Corp. in the United States is seeking an Industrial Engineering internship to design, develop, test and evaluate integrated systems for managing industrial production processes, including human factors, quality control and logistics.

You will collaborate with engineers and production staff, gain hands-on experience in lean manufacturing, capacity planning, layout design and data visualization, and participate in development programs designed to accelerate growth and your professional

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's in Industrial Engineering for the duration of the internship.
• Experience in AutoCAD or Draftsite.
• Experience in Google Applications.

Responsibilities

• Provide lean manufacturing solutions for customer or process specific production such as lead time reduction, single piece flow & pull systems.
• Support Short & Long range capacity Planning such as Kinaxis Rapid Response Capacity Software
• Draft and design layout of equipment, materials, and workspace to illustrate maximum efficiency, using drafting tools and computer.
• Study operations sequence, material flow, and project information to optimize manufacturing operations.
• Analyze production data (cycle times, flow) to identify inefficiencies.
• Generate performance reports and visualizations.
• Execute your ideas and solutions with engineers and production staff through influential leadership
• Modify & improve workstations & Material Deployment solutions to optimize production work cells.

This is an internship position (Non-Exempt Salary); the hourly range is stated below. The rate offered within this range will be based upon the geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level.

$23 - $27/hr.

Overview

Design, develop, test and evaluate integrated systems for managing industrial production processes including human work factors, quality control, inventory control, logistics and material flow, cost analysis and production coordination.

Minimum Qualifications

• Student working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering for the entire duration of internship.
• Experience in AutoCAD or Draftsite
• Experience in Google Applications

Preferred Qualifications

• Sophomore or Junior level status
• GPA: 3.0 or higher is preferred
• Excellent analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills
• Strong communication skills
