Hitachi Rail is seeking an enthusiastic intern in Traction Power based in Pearl City, HI. The role spans from administrative tasks to strategic support, with a focus on hands-on exposure to traction power systems and rail operations.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree Electrical Engineering with a graduation date between December 2027 and December 2028.
• Proficient with Microsoft 360 applications - Word, Excel, Teams, etc.
• Attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Gain practical experience in Traction Power systems, substations, UPS systems, power distribution, and rail transit operations.
• Support engineering and project teams with administrative to strategic tasks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on rail signaling and urban transit projects.
• Contribute to documentation and reporting requirements.

We're looking for eligible students to join Hitachi Rail! Hiring for May 2027 through August 2027.

Accountabilities:

Electrical Engineering background who can gain practical experience in Traction Power systems, substations, UPS systems, power distribution, and rail transit operations.

Required Skills & Experience

• Proficient with Microsoft 360 applications - Word, Excel, Teams, etc.
• Strong relevant technical skills
• Attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Problem anticipation and solving techniques, strong at troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of and ability to analyze electrical schematics.
• Must be available to work 40 hours per week onsite

Education

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree Electrical Engineering with a graduation date between December 2027 and December 2028.

Languages:

• Fluent in English, both written and verbal.

The hourly rate for this role is $22.00 per hour.
