Job summary

HNTB Corporation's Central States office in Des Moines, IA is seeking Intern Technicians in Bridge and Roadway to assist with drafting and plan preparation under supervision.

You will use AutoCAD or MicroStation, transfer data to final plans, and gain exposure to transportation infrastructure while enrolled in an accredited post-secondary program.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent plus current enrollment in an accredited post-secondary program.
• AutoCAD and/or MicroStation experience.
• Strong interest in transportation and infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Uses computer aided drafting to prepare construction details, design plans, reports and meeting exhibits.
• Transfers information from sources to final plans and maps.
• Visualizes and illustrates concepts in 2D or 3D and applies algebra, geometry and trigonometry.

Focus of tasks generally related to specific Engineering sub-type which may reflect elements of standard post-secondary engineering curriculum, usually on a part-time, temporary, or co-op basis.Our Central States office seeks Intern Technicians within the following areas: Bridge and Roadway.Relocation and housing are not provided for this position.What You’ll Do:Utilizes computer aided drafting, design software and various other computer software packages to assist in the preparation of construction details, design plans, reports, and meeting exhibits.Transfers information in numerical, written and sketched, or electronic format from sources such as legal descriptions, survey data, aerial photographs and computer files to final plans and maps.Visualizes and illustrates concept or designs in 2 or 3 dimensions.
