Job summary

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (OTS) invites an motivated student to join as an Intern in Technical Support at our Springboro, OH facilities. You will assist engineers on special projects, shadow senior staff, set up equipment, collect data, and help compile reports under supervision.

The ideal candidate is currently enrolled in a related technical program and within six months of graduation, with strong teamwork, communication, and the ability to follow directions.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in related technical courses or be within 6 months of graduation; No prior experience needed.
• Must be enrolled in a technical college or degree-seeking program.

Responsibilities

• Provides support to technical employees working in an organizational function related to the Intern's area of study.
• Assists with technical tasks and project support.
• Supports equipment set up and monitors tests and experiments.
• Observes results, collects data, and compiles summaries and reports.
• Learns technical processes and procedures.
• Job shadows other more experienced professionals and or support staff.
• May also support the documentation & updates of procedures or work instructions.

• Knowledge, skills & abilities: Ability to work as part of a team. Oral and written communication skills. Attentiveness. Ability to understand and follow directions.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
• Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
• May need to stand for long periods of time.
• Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
• This position is Safety-Sensitive.
