Philips is offering an Intern - Systems Engineer opportunity at our New Kensington, PA site for Summer 2027. You will support engineering activities from concept through testing, work with cross-functional teams, and complete a defined project with presentable results.

Ideal candidates are pursuing BS/MS degrees in Mechanical, Bioengineering, Software, or Electrical/Computer Engineering, with basic MS Office skills and an interest in CAD/FEA/CFD tools.

Qualifications

• Solid basic computer skills including MS Office Suite.
• Good communication and presentation skills for reporting project status.
• Knowledge of CAD (Pro-E), FEA and CFD software desired but not required.
• Able to perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation.

Job Description

Are you interested in an Intern opportunity with Philips? We welcome individuals who are currently pursuing an undergraduate (BS) and/or graduate (MS) degree to participate in 3-4 month paid Intern opportunities at our site in New Kensington, PA. Through this role you will gain meaningful, hands-on experience working for a HealthTech company.

Your role:

• Support Systems Engineering activities throughout the product development process under the guidance of experienced engineers. Develop an understanding of how user, business, and regulatory needs are translated into system design.
• Support system integration activities, including test preparation and execution, data analysis, defect documentation, and follow-up.
• Contribute to system architecture, interface definition, and technical feasibility activities by researching options, organizing information, and documenting findings.
• Participate in cross-functional meetings and collaborate with hardware, software, quality, and manufacturing teams.
• Complete a defined engineering project or analysis and present results, recommendations, and lessons learned to the team.

You're the right fit if:

Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities. Philips Transparency Details

The hourly pay range for this position is Bachelor Level: $26.00 to $36.00 an hour; Masters Level: $33.00 to $46.00 an hour plus overtime eligible. The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple factors including, job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.
