Job summary

ApplyMint is seeking an Intern, Software Engineer in Northampton, MA to contribute to embedded software for real‑time control of tactical radio equipment. You’ll apply CS concepts across design, implementation and testing, shaping interfaces between hardware and software while meeting performance targets.

You’ll participate in requirements analysis, design reviews, coding and debugging across Windows and Linux platforms, using languages such as C++, C#, Java and Python on multiple RTOS

Qualifications

  • Eligible candidates are pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, electrical engineering, wireless engineering, math, or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Apply CS, engineering and math analysis to develop software for the target application.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to design interfaces between hardware and software and meet performance requirements.
  • Support all phases of the software development life cycle for embedded real‑time control of tactical radio equipment.
  • Develop software test procedures and related documentation.

Job Title: Intern, Software Engineer
Job Code: 43512
Job Location: Northampton, MA
Job Schedule:9/80:Employees work 9 out of every 14 days - totaling 80 hours worked, and have every other Friday off
Job Description:

  • Apply computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis concepts and principles in the development of software for the target application
  • Work closely with cross functional members of the engineering organization to develop and evaluate interfaces between hardware and software, and operational performance requirements and design of the overall system
  • Support and participate in all phases of the software development life cycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, and test of embedded software for real-time control of advanced tactical radio equipment
  • Develop software test procedures, software programs, and related documentation
  • Utilize modeling tools and equipment to establish operating data, conduct experimental tests, and evaluate results
  • Participate in peer reviews, identify, track and repair defects
  • Utilize a variety of software languages (i.e., C++, C#, C, Java, Ruby, HTML5, XML, SQL, Perl, Python, Ajax, Qt) on Windows, Linux, mobile platforms, and embedded real time operating systems (VxWorks, Linux, QNX, Integrity, Windows CE, and others for Motorola, Intel, TI, and custom processor designs)
Qualifications:

To be eligible, candidate's must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree, a Master’s degree, or a PhD in computer science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Wireless Engineering, Information Security, Mathematics, Digital Arts & Sciences or related field at an accredited university.

PAY TRANSPARENCY:

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C, Denver, or NYC areas is $29.00/hour - $53.50/hour. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
