Job summary

Micron Technology, Inc. is seeking an AI Engineering Intern to design, develop, and support AI-enabled software solutions.

You will work on full stack applications, AI agents, LLM integrations, and modern software systems while gaining hands-on experience with production-grade AI technologies and cloud-native architectures. Responsibilities include building AI capabilities, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and improving software development practices.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technical field with graduation date Sept 2027 or later.
  • Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms and OOP.
  • Experience with Python, C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Java.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and support AI-enabled software applications using modern programming languages, web technologies, databases, APIs, and cloud-based architectures.
  • Build and integrate AI capabilities such as LLMs, AI agents, retrieval systems, and automation into enterprise apps.
  • Collaborate with engineers, product owners, and stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable solutions.
  • Utilize AI-assisted development tools and CI/CD practices to improve quality and delivery.
  • Research, evaluate, prototype emerging AI technologies and contribute to documentation and testing.

As an AI Engineering Intern, you will design, develop, and support AI-enabled software solutions that address real-world business challenges across Micron. You will work on full stack applications, AI agents, LLM integrations, and modern software systems while gaining hands‑on experience with production‑grade AI technologies, cloud‑native architectures, and AI-assisted software development practices.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, and support AI-enabled software applications using modern programming languages, web technologies, databases, APIs, and cloud-based architectures.
  • Build and integrate AI capabilities such as large language models (LLMs), AI agents, retrieval systems, and intelligent automation solutions into enterprise applications.
  • Collaborate with engineers, product owners, and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Utilize AI-assisted development tools, automation frameworks, and modern engineering practices to improve software quality, productivity, and delivery efficiency.
  • Research, evaluate, and prototype emerging AI technologies while contributing to software documentation, testing, continuous improvement, and operational excellence initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience through internships, research projects, coursework, academic projects, hackathons, or software development experience in artificial intelligence, software engineering, data science, or related technical fields.
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related technical field. Expected graduation date of September 2027 or later.
  • Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals, data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming concepts.
  • Experience with at least one programming language such as Python, C#, JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, or similar technologies.
  • Familiarity with relational and/or NoSQL database technologies.
  • Understanding of software architecture principles and modern application development practices.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrated experience using AI-enabled tools and large language models (LLMs) such as Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or similar technologies to improve productivity, software development, learning, and problem-solving.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of large language models (LLMs), AI agents, generative AI, and modern AI application architectures.
  • Familiarity with prompt engineering, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), vector databases, embeddings, Model Context Protocol (MCP), and agentic workflows.
  • Basic understanding of machine learning concepts, including model training, inference, supervised learning, and unsupervised learning.
  • Experience with AI-assisted software development tools, coding assistants, or intelligent automation technologies.
  • Experience building web applications using modern full stack frameworks and development practices.
  • Familiarity with REST APIs, cloud platforms, containerization technologies, DevOps tools, or CI/CD methodologies.
  • Experience using source control systems such as Git and participating in collaborative software development workflows.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts effectively.
  • Demonstrated curiosity, initiative, and passion for learning emerging AI technologies and solving complex technical challenges.
