As an AI Engineering Intern, you will design, develop, and support AI-enabled software solutions that address real-world business challenges across Micron. You will work on full stack applications, AI agents, LLM integrations, and modern software systems while gaining hands‑on experience with production‑grade AI technologies, cloud-native architectures, and AI‑assisted software development practices.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, and support AI-enabled software applications using modern programming languages, web technologies, databases, APIs, and cloud-based architectures.
  • Build and integrate AI capabilities such as large language models (LLMs), AI agents, retrieval systems, and intelligent automation solutions into enterprise applications.
  • Collaborate with engineers, product owners, and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Utilize AI-assisted development tools, automation frameworks, and modern engineering practices to improve software quality, productivity, and delivery efficiency.
  • Research, evaluate, and prototype emerging AI technologies while contributing to software documentation, testing, continuous improvement, and operational excellence initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience through internships, research projects, coursework, academic projects, hackathons, or software development experience in artificial intelligence, software engineering, data science, or related technical fields.
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related technical field.
  • Expected graduation date of September 2027 or later.
  • Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals, data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming concepts.
  • Experience with at least one programming language such as Python, C#, JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, or similar technologies.
  • Familiarity with relational and/or NoSQL database technologies.
  • Understanding of software architecture principles and modern application development practices.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrated experience using AI-enabled tools and large language models (LLMs) such as Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or similar technologies to improve productivity, software development, learning, and problem-solving.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of large language models (LLMs), AI agents, generative AI, and modern AI application architectures.
  • Familiarity with prompt engineering, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), vector databases, embeddings, Model Context Protocol (MCP), and agentic workflows.
  • Basic understanding of machine learning concepts, including model training, inference, supervised learning, and unsupervised learning.
  • Experience with AI-assisted software development tools, coding assistants, or intelligent automation technologies.
  • Experience building web applications using modern full stack frameworks and development practices.
  • Familiarity with REST APIs, cloud platforms, containerization technologies, DevOps tools, or CI/CD methodologies.
  • Experience using source control systems such as Git and participating in collaborative software development workflows.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts effectively.
  • Demonstrated curiosity, initiative, and passion for learning emerging AI technologies and solving complex technical challenges.
