Job summary

Plexus Corp. in Buffalo Grove, IL is offering an IT Intern position (Non-Exempt Salary).

The hourly rate ranges from $23 to $25 per hour and will be based on location, experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level. The IT Intern will assist in development, testing, documentation, implementation and maintenance of new and current systems and applications, as well as daily IT support tasks.

Qualifications

• Student working toward a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or MIS for the duration of internship.
• GPA 3.0 or higher preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure user satisfaction by resolving routine operational issues following Plexus policies.
• Resolve service desk tickets and document resolutions.
• Review monitoring systems and performance data to present metrics.
• Develop or update project, system and disaster recovery SOPs.
• Assist in developing simple to moderate new applications.
• Complete assigned projects to maintain and support software/hardware.
• Follow standard practices in analyzing situations or data.
• Uphold cybersecurity posture by following policies and reporting incidents.

The rate offered within this range will be based upon the geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level. Hourly Rate:
$23 - $25/hr.

OVERVIEW

The IT Intern is responsible for assisting in the development, testing, documentation, implementation and maintenance of new and current systems and applications as well as assisting in daily IT support functions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure user satisfaction by resolving routine operational issues regarding areas of expertise or assignment, utilizing Plexus policies and procedures.
• Utilize strong problem solving skills to resolve service desk tickets and document the process taken to each resolution.
• Review monitoring systems, applications and business services for alerts; analyze performance data to present metrics.
• Develop and/or update project, system and disaster recovery documentation and their supporting Stand Operating Procedures (SOP).
• Assist in the development of simple to moderate new applications to fulfill company needs.
• Completes assigned projects to enhance, maintain and support existing software and hardware.
• Follow standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data.
• All GT team members are responsible for upholding the organization's cybersecurity posture by adhering to security policies and procedures, actively participating in training, protecting data and systems, actively identifying and mitigating vulnerabilities, and promptly reporting any suspicious activity or potential security incidents.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Student working toward a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or MIS for the entire duration of internship.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Junior level status
• GPA: 3.0 or higher is preferred
