Job summary

Atterbury Job Corps Center in Edinburgh, IN is offering a Security & Safety Intern position. You will work alongside experienced security staff to learn how a Center-wide safety program operates and help resolve incidents that affect student success.

As an intern, you will conduct safety inspections, assist with investigations, support emergency response and daily security operations, and help maintain records while upholding confidentiality and integrity guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Support the Safety & Security Department in maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming Center environment
• Assist with accident and incident investigations, including documentation, reporting, and recommended corrective actions
• Conduct safety inspections, security checks, and facility assessments to identify and address potential hazards
• Support compliance with safety, health, security, and Center policies and procedures
• Assist with emergency response, visitor control, student accountability, and daily security operations
• Conduct routine security tours and support student monitoring, supervision, and positive behavior management
• Assist with residential operations, including dorm inspections and safety-related activities as assigned
• Maintain accurate records, protect student information, and follow all integrity and confidentiality guidelines
• Complete assignments responsibly, meet deadlines, and maintain strong attendance and accountability standards
• Apply job knowledge, continue developing skills, and demonstrate professionalism in all interactions
• Model and promote Career Success Standards while serving as a positive role model and mentor for students
