Job summary

Baptist Memorial Health Care is seeking a student in a Respiratory Therapy program to assist in supplying and distributing equipment and supplies across the Meridian facility. You will help ensure compliance with Infection Control and hospital guidelines while maintaining inventory and supporting departments.

The role involves monitoring inventory levels (PAR), processing requisitions, performing EKGs, and adhering to safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a CAAHEP/CoARC approved respiratory therapy program, second year, in good standing.
• BLS certification within 14 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Monitors, inventories, and restocks equipment and supplies throughout the hospital as needed.
• Maintains PAR levels to ensure adequate inventory of sterile and unsterile supplies.
• Fills inventory supply requisitions and delivers supplies.
• Participates in annual physical inventory.
• Processes returned items appropriately.
• Understands, applies, and supports departmental/hospital policies, procedures and standards.
• Performs general housekeeping functions.
• Maintains hospital, DNV and other quality control standards with subsequent records of sterilization procedures.
• Ensures safe operation of equipment.
• Maintains equipment and work area.
• Recognizes and reacts appropriately to environmental safety factors.
• Performs quality control checks.
• Performs EKGs
