Job summary

Qualifications

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree or higher in environmental, geoscience, business or political science fields.
  • Current college level: Freshman through Senior; graduation Fall 2027 to Spring/Fall 2030.
  • Minimum ten weeks availability for internship.
  • GPA 3.0 on 4.0 scale (cumulative and major).
  • Previous internships or co-ops in an energy related field.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Support regulatory compliance across ConocoPhillips’ Gulf Coast, Rockies, and Permian assets.
  • Assist with well permitting and post-spud compliance documentation and tracking.
  • Support preparation and submission of environmental surface permits.
  • Help maintain and update regulatory metrics and dashboards for internal reporting.
  • Participate in regulatory research and summarize rule changes or agency updates.
  • Collaborate to prepare materials for agency engagement and audits.
  • Attend team meetings and contribute to project coordination and contractor oversight.
  • Shadow Regulatory Coordinators to gain insight into pipeline compliance and enforcement.

  • Supporting the Regulatory team in ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations across ConocoPhillips’ operations in the Gulf Coast, Rockies, and Permian assets

  • Helping to maintain and update regulatory metrics and dashboards for internal reporting
  • Participating in regulatory research and assisting in summarizing rule changes or agency updates
  • Collaborating with team members to prepare materials for agency engagement and internal and external audits
  • Attending team meetings and contributing to project coordination and contractor oversight efforts
  • Shadowing Regulatory Coordinators to gain insight into pipeline compliance and enforcement implementation
Requirements
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer and/or education institution
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree or higher in Environmental Studies, Environmental Systems Science, Ecology and Conservation Biology, Geoscience, Geography and the Environment, Natural Resources Management, General Business or Management, Political Science, or foreign equivalent
  • Current level in college: Freshman through Senior
  • Expected graduation date: Fall 2027 through Spring/Fall 2030
  • A minimum of ten (10) continuous weeks availability for internship
  • A minimum cumulative and major GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
  • Previous internships or co-ops in an energy related field
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
