Job summary

Chobani is seeking a Quality Intern to support continuous improvement, quality assurance, and food safety at our South Edmeston, NY facility. This hands-on internship will expose you to quality systems and cross-functional collaboration to enhance product quality and consumer satisfaction.

You will gain experience in quality data collection, SPC monitoring, NCR handling, CAPA coordination, and supplier quality projects within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's program in Food Science, Food Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, Statistics, or related field with expected graduation between Dec 2026 and May 2028.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); data visualization experience a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

  • Quality Improvement Projects: work on assigned quality-focused continuous improvement projects and assist with FMEA documentation.
  • Non-Conformance & Investigation Support: NCR documentation and root-cause analysis investigations using 5-Why and Fishbone diagrams.
  • Quality Data Collection & Analysis: collect daily quality data from production lines, monitor SPC and generate routine reports.
  • Quality System Support: assist with quality management system maintenance, audits, and operator training.
  • Participate in Kaizen events and process optimization projects.

Summary

Join Chobani's mission of \"making good food for all\" as a Quality Intern working directly with our Quality Engineer to support continuous improvement initiatives, quality assurance programs, and food safety excellence at our South Edmeston, NY facility.

During this hands-on internship you will gain valuable experience in food manufacturing quality systems and will collaborate cross-functionally to contribute to meaningful projects that impact product quality and consumer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Quality Improvement Projects

  • Work on assigned quality-focused continuous improvement projects
  • Assist with FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) documentation
  • Support lean manufacturing initiatives and 5S activities
  • Help develop and update quality procedures and work instructions
  • Participate in Kaizen events and process optimization projects

Non-Conformance & Investigation Support

  • Support the Quality Engineer with NCR documentation and tracking
  • Assist in root cause analysis investigations using tools like 5-Why's and Fishbone diagrams
  • Help coordinate cross-functional teams for CAPA (Corrective Action/Preventive Action) meetings
  • Participate in consumer complaint investigations and data analysis
  • Support supplier quality assessment projects

Quality Data Collection & Analysis

  • Assist with daily quality data collection from production lines for yogurt products
  • Support Statistical Process Control (SPC) monitoring and trend analysis
  • Help maintain quality databases and generate routine quality reports
  • Participate in product testing and sensory evaluations
  • Document quality metrics and assist with data visualization projects

Quality System Support

  • Assist with quality management system maintenance and documentation
  • Support internal quality audits and inspection preparation
  • Help train production operators on quality procedures and standards
  • Participate in calibration programs for quality testing equipment
  • Support new product development quality assessments
Requirements
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Food Science, Food Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, Statistics, or related field, with an expected graduation between December 2026 and May 2028
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Coursework in statistics, quality control, or process improvement and experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau) a plus
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and walk throughout manufacturing facility\
  • Comfortable working in food manufacturing environment (temperature variations, noise, GMP and PPE requirements, safety equipment, etc.)
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds
