Job summary

Halff Associates, Inc. is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern in Shreveport, LA to assist our Public Works/Transportation team. The internship runs June 7, 2027 to August 13, 2027, with full-time hours and hourly pay.

Responsibilities include design under a Professional Engineer, plans and cost estimates, drafting CAD work, and regulatory documentation. Ideal candidates are pursuing a civil engineering degree with strong communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing Bachelor's or Master's in Civil Engineering or ABET-equivalent degree.
  • Strong communication skills are essential for coordination with teams and clients.
  • Self-motivated with good organizational skills and the ability to work in a team.

Intern, Public Works

Halff is actively seeking an Intern for our Public Works/Transportation team in our Shreveport, LA office. The Civil Engineering Intern will help with Public Works and Transportation projects. The Internship will begin on June 7th, 2027, and conclude on August 13th, 2027.


Interns are paid hourly and work full-time (40 hours/week), typically 8a-5p Monday through Friday.


Halff does not pay for or provide housing for Internships.


What you will do:


  • Design civil engineering projects under the direct supervision of a Professional Engineer

  • Assist in the preparation of plans, specifications, and cost estimates for Public Works and Transportation projects

  • Perform drafting CAD work

  • Perform calculations and analysis for design projects

  • Assist in the preparation of permit applications and other regulatory documents

  • Coordinate with other team members, including surveyors, architects, and contractors

  • Attend meetings with clients and regulatory agencies


What you will need:


  • Pursuing Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent Engineering Degree

  • Great communication skills

  • Solid relationship and team building skills

  • Self-motivated and strong organization skills
