Job summary

Southland Industries offers a paid internship/co-op program designed to expose students to design-build, HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection. An intern project engineer assists design and project managers in coordinating resources, estimating, and scheduling to understand the construction process.

You will gain hands-on experience, work with company leaders, and participate in team activities. The program may lead to full-time opportunities upon successful performance and business needs.

Position Summary

Our internship program is designed to introduce students to a career in design-build, HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection. A project engineer intern’s primary responsibility is to assist a design manager or project manager in successfully coordinating a project using the necessary engineering, labor, equipment, materials, tools, and subcontracted services. This position requires the development of skills in design, estimating, and scheduling to better understand the coordination of the design-build construction process.
