Southland Industries, Inc. offers an internship program exposing students to design-build, HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection coordination.

Interns assist design or project managers, supporting field labor, procurement, and budget analysis to understand project changes and coordination across trades. You will gain hands-on experience, work alongside company leaders, participate in group activities, and may receive paid housing in some locations, with potential for full-time employment after

Our internship program is designed to introduce students to a career in design-build, HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection. A project engineer intern’s primary responsibility is to assist a design manager or project manager in successfully coordinating a project using the necessary engineering, labor, equipment, materials, tools, and subcontracted services. This position requires the development of skills in design, estimating, and scheduling to better understand the coordination of the design-build construction process.

• Assist in budget analysis, cost and margin projections, estimate project changes and impacts, etc.
