Job summary

Wheatland Tube, LLC, a Zekelman Industries company, is seeking a Production Analytics & AI Intern to support production planning and digital transformation at the Wheatland Tube Council Avenue facility in Wheatland, PA.

The program runs May 24, 2027 through August 13, 2027 and combines manufacturing exposure with data analytics and AI initiatives to improve planning decisions and visibility.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's in data analytics, CS, or related field.
• Strong interest in manufacturing, production planning, analytics, AI.
• Proficient with Excel; familiar with data visualization tools.
• Experience with SQL, Python, Power BI, Tableau preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyze manufacturing, inventory, and scheduling data to support planning.
• Identify opportunities for automation, digitalization, or AI improvements.
• Build dashboards and reports to support decisions.
• Document current and future planning workflows.
• Assist with pilot projects involving AI tools and analytics platforms.
• Support data collection and reporting on production performance.
• Prepare presentations for leadership stakeholders.

The official Zekelman internship program runs from May 24, 2027 through August 13, 2027.This unique internship sits at the intersection of manufacturing operations, production planning, data analytics, and artificial intelligence (AI). The intern will work closely with both the Production Planning team and the AI & Innovation team to help improve how production decisions are made, measured, and optimized. Rather than working solely on theoretical analytics projects, you'll spend time on the manufacturing floor learning how steel pipe and tube production operates and identifying opportunities to improve planning processes through data, automation, and emerging technologies.You'll collaborate with production leaders, planners, operators, and technology teams to analyze workflows, evaluate operational data, and help introduce digital tools that improve visibility, planning accuracy, and decision-making.
