Job summary

Plexus Corp is seeking a student intern in Industrial Engineering to design, develop, test and evaluate systems for managing production processes including quality control and material flow. You will contribute to continuous improvement by analyzing data and supporting lean initiatives.

The internship offers exposure to cross-functional teams, development programs, and a pathway to grow within a global manufacturing environment at Plexus.

Qualifications

• Student working towards a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering for the entire duration of internship.
• Experience in AutoCAD or Draftsite.
• Experience in Google Applications.

Responsibilities

• Provide lean manufacturing solutions to improve lead time and flow.
• Support capacity planning using Kinaxis Rapid Response Capacity Software.
• Draft and design layouts of equipment and workspace for efficiency.
• Study operations sequence and material flow to optimize production.
• Analyze production data to identify inefficiencies.
• Generate performance reports and visualizations.
• Collaborate with engineers and production staff to implement solutions.
• Modify and improve workstations and material deployment to optimize cells.

The rate offered within this range will be based upon the geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level. Hourly Rate:

$23 - $27/hr.

OVERVIEW

Design, develop, test and evaluate integrated systems for managing industrial production processes including human work factors, quality control, inventory control, logistics and material flow, cost analysis and production coordination.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide lean manufacturing solutions for customer or process specific production such as lead time reduction, single piece flow & pull systems.

• Support Short & Long range capacity Planning such as Kinaxis Rapid Response Capacity Software

• Draft and design layout of equipment, materials, and workspace to illustrate maximum efficiency, using drafting tools and computer.

• Study operations sequence, material flow, and project information to optimize manufacturing operations.

• Analyze production data (cycle times, flow) to identify inefficiencies.

• Generate performance reports and visualizations.

• Execute your ideas and solutions with engineers and production staff through influential leadership

• Modify & improve workstations & Material Deployment solutions to optimize production work cells.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Student working towards a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering for the entire duration of internship.

• Experience in AutoCAD or Draftsite

• Experience in Google Applications

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Sophomore or Junior level status

• GPA: 3.0 or higher is preferred

• Excellent analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills

• Strong communication skills
