Job summary

Advantage Healthcare Services is seeking an Intern Pharmacist to work under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, assisting in dispensing preparation, insurance claims, and other pharmacist-related duties.

You will respond to therapeutic questions, verify prescriptions for dosage and interactions, perform MTM, and support the pharmacy team in compliance with regulations, HIPAA, and quality standards while gaining hands-on experience in a compassionate, mission-driven setting.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of pharmacotherapy, medication safety, and healthcare regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
• Experience with quality improvement initiatives and clinical research preferred.
• Fully certified, and participate in the Pharmacist Injection/Vaccination Program.

Responsibilities

• Respond to questions regarding therapeutic errors of over the counter or prescription medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
• Verify prescriptions for appropriate dosage, drug interactions, allergies, and contraindications before dispensing.
• Perform clinical duties, including Medication Therapy Management (MTM).
• Perform quality control tests on prepared products required tests on equipment.
• Assist licensed pharmacists to formulate, fill, label and dispense medications and other health care products in accordance with regulatory requirements.
• Perform all activities of a Pharmacy Technician, as assigned by pharmacy leadership.
• Offer and provide consultation to patients under supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
• Ensure compliance will all federal, state, and HIPAA laws.
• Perform ad hoc tasks as required.

• Must be enrolled in an accredited pharmacy program
• Active Intern Pharmacist license in good standing in practicing state
• Previous experience in a pharmacy setting preferred but not re quired

Working Conditions

• Full-time, typically requiring 40+ hours per week
• Work is performed in a pharmacy setting
• Prolonged periods working on a computer
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
• Able to travel as needed
