Highgate Hotels in Phoenix offers the 2027 Operations Internship, allowing rotation through multiple hotel departments. The program starts in June and provides hands-on learning in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Interns work onsite, reside in the internship city, and gain exposure to guest services, operations, and analytics while supporting hotel teams and management. This is an onsite opportunity emphasizing teamwork and professional growth.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Hotel/Hospitality Management, Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, Business, or a related field.
  • We are looking for individuals who possess a high level of attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
  • This role has direct involvement with both management and employees and strong communication skills are required.
  • Applicants must also have the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, have the confidence to provide feedback to management and have strong follow through.
  • This position requires an applicant with a flexible schedule and the ability to work all shifts, weekends and holidays.
  • This is a fully onsite internship. Candidates must reside in the internship city for the duration of the program and be available to work onsite as scheduled.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate effectively with all levels of employees and guests in a courteous manner.
  • Listen to concerns and clarify issues raised by staff and guests.
  • Multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
  • Provide attentive, friendly, service-oriented guest and employee encounters.
  • Attend all hotel meetings and trainings.
  • Maintain attendance per Highgate Hotel Standards, per scheduling needs.
  • Maintain proper uniform and nametag appearance.
  • Comply with Highgate Hotel Standards to ensure safe operations.
  • Identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions.
  • Solve problems by anticipating, preventing, and addressing issues.
  • Understand and apply complex information from various sources.
  • Cross-train in other hotel-related areas.
  • Maintain confidentiality of information.
  • Show initiative by anticipating guest or operational needs.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.

Overview

Our 2027 Operations Internship gives you the opportunity to rotate and work in multiple departments in our hotels. You will learn about the hospitality industry while working in a fun and fast - paced environment. Specific hotel placement will be discussed upon submission of an internship offer. Our internship begins in June.

Responsibilities
  • Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all levels of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner.
  • Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests.
  • Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner.
  • Attend all hotel required meetings and trainings.
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Highgate Hotel Standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.

  • Comply with Highgate Hotel Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • Maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions.
