Job summary

Dominion Energy offers a summer internship in the South Carolina Transmission Operations Center in Cayce. You will assist outage planning, analyze transmission facilities, and support operator training and control room projects.

Strong computer skills with AutoCAD, GIS and MS Office are required, and travel may be needed. Enrollment in an ABET-accredited ME/EE program is required, with a 2.5+ GPA and graduation date 2028 or later.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in an ABET-accredited Bachelor's degree program in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field.
• GPA of 2.5 or above is required.
• Expected graduation date of 2028 or later.

Responsibilities

• Assist with outage planning and analysis of electric transmission system facilities.
• Prepare and maintain operator displays for the control room.
• Support operator training and various control room projects.
• Assist Renewable Operations initiatives as part of the team.
• Collaborate with team members and travel as needed.

Job Summary

Exciting opportunity for a summer intern! Selected student(s) will gain utility knowledge in the Dominion Energy South Carolina Transmission Operations Center. This position is located in Cayce, South Carolina. Duties include but not limited to: outage planning and analysis of electric transmission system facilities; preparing and maintaining operator displays; supporting operator training; supporting various control room projects; and supporting Renewable Operations.

Must have strong computer knowledge and skills with demonstrated ability to learn and utilize AutoCAD, GIS and Microsoft Office products; must have good verbal and written communication skills; be able to work independently and as a team; must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the assigned work location and have reliable transportation; must be able to move about freely and perform field work; must be able to travel and work outside of normal business hours through the company territory.

Education Requirements

• Must be currently enrolled in an ABET Accredited Bachelor's degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field


• Must have a GPA of 2.5 or above


• Must have a graduation date of 2028 or later

Hourly Rate:

$23.00 - $29.00

The hourly rate listed is the rate we anticipate paying for this position. If a range is listed, the actual hourly rate offered may vary based on factors such as the selected candidate's degree type, academic major, and/or school classification (e.g., sophomore, junior, senior).
