Job summary

Hitachi Rail STS USA, INC. in Pittsburgh, PA is seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated Network Engineering Intern for Summer 2027.

You will gain hands-on experience by supporting design, configuration, testing activities and reporting on progress, while learning Cisco equipment setup and fiber optics. Current engineering student with graduation between December 2027 and December 2028 is required; fluent English and strong communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Current engineering student with expected graduation Dec 2027 - Dec 2028.
  • Knowledge of networking and/or radio technologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support execution of design, configuration, test activities
  • Maintain an open action items list and produce reports
  • Configure Cisco equipment (switches, routers)
  • Configure networks and fiber optic cabling systems
  • Optimization and testing of radio, network and fiber systems

Job Description

Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated Intern - Network Engineering for Summer 2027. The position is based in Pittsburgh, PA. You will gain hands-on experience while providing valuable support to your team. Hiring for May 2027 through August 2027.

Accountabilities
  • Support execution of design, configuration, test activities
  • Maintain an open action items list and produce effective reporting

Required skills / experience
  • Knowledge of networking and/or radio technologies

Education

Current Engineering student at a 4-year university with a graduation date between December 2027 and December 2028.
