Job summary

WSB is offering a National Internship Program designed to give engineering students hands-on experience in municipal infrastructure. The Municipal Intern will work alongside engineers and project teams to contribute to design, calculations, reports, and documentation on real projects.

You will gain exposure to roads, utilities, drainage and public improvements while developing technical and professional skills in a collaborative environment. Authorization to work in the US is required.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Interest in municipal engineering, transportation, utilities, land development, or public infrastructure projects.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D or other engineering design software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the design and preparation of plans for municipal infrastructure projects, including roads, utilities, drainage, and public improvements.
• Supporting engineers with design calculations, cost estimates, and technical analyses.
• Assisting in the preparation of reports, specifications, permit applications, and other project documentation.
• Reviewing engineering drawings, plans, and technical documents for accuracy and completeness.
• Participating in project meetings, site visits, and field observations.
• Collaborating with engineers, designers, and other disciplines to deliver high-quality solutions for municipal clients.
• Supporting project coordination, data collection, and research activities.
• Learning industry standards, engineering practices, and municipal design processes while contributing to active projects.

What You Will Do

What You Will Bring

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering program from an accredited university.
• Interest in municipal engineering, transportation, utilities, land development, or public infrastructure projects.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D or other engineering design software is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents is preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record preferred.
