Job summary

United Airlines seeks a Menu Design Intern to support the global onboard menu program, helping with strategy, planning, and execution across the menu lifecycle.

You will gather menu information, transfer data to the internal library, and participate in team workshops and menu presentations with cross-functional partners. A foundational understanding of AI tools and data privacy is preferred; starting rate is $20.00/hour.

Menu Design Job overview and responsibilities:

The Menu Design team oversees the development, planning, and implementation of the global complimentary onboard menu program.

The Menu Design intern will be responsible for a variety of exciting initiatives including but not limited to:

• Support the Menu Design team in strategy, planning, and implementation of all complimentary onboard menu offerings
• Identify opportunities for process improvement throughout all stages of menu development, planning, and implementation
• Participate in team workshops and menu presentations
• Collaborate with various United teams including Procurement, Food Safety, Catering Performance, Digital Technology, and Strategy & Onboard Experience
• Communicate with external partners to gather menu information and transfer to internal menu library database

Preferred Skills:

• Demonstrated understanding of the capabilities and limitations of generative AI tools and the ability to leverage AI effectively to support research, analysis, content creation, and problem-solving. Applies critical thinking to validate AI-generated outputs while adhering to organizational policies related to responsible AI use, data privacy, and security.

The starting rate for this role is $20.00.

The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, education and skills. This position may also be eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
