Minimum Salary: $25.47 per hour
The purpose of the mental health intern is to provide mental health services in the adult correctional facilities operated by the Department of Corrections. Duties include assessment of offender's behavioral health needs, providing groups, individual sessions, treatment plans, and documentation.
Applicant must be pursuing a master’s degree from an accredited institution in one of the following mental health fields: counseling, social work, psychology, or marriage and family therapy.
All students are encouraged to apply; preference may be given to applicants with a standing of Junior/Senior year, South Dakota residents, and students of South Dakota institutions.
Successful applicant(s) will be required to undergo a background investigation. An arrest/conviction record will not necessarily bar employment. Offers of employment are conditional upon successful completion of a drug screening.
