Brief Description
INTERN- MECHANICAL ENGINEER
BASIC FUNCTION
Design mechanical products and perform mechanical engineering functions in the execution of assigned projects in a cross-functional work team.
Responsibilities
- Review drawings to ensure manufacturability and functionality.
- Assist production with standard product engineering related concerns.
- Analyze and resolve a range of engineering problems.
- Understand, support, and comply with all plant safety policies and procedures.
- Function as part of a design team and utilize engineering design.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related duties as needed.
- Ability to manage and execute small projects assigned.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications / Experience Required
- Current Standing as a Junior or Senior student actively enrolled in an accredited Mechanical Engineering (or related) Undergraduate Program
- Minimum 3.0 GPA required (submit unofficial transcript)
- Experience with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint preferred
- Strong technical, writing, problem solving and analytical skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to follow directions and work tasks through completion
- Detailed oriented with an emphasis on quality work products
- Position is in a chemical processing facility and may require working different shifts
Physical Capacity Requirements
This position requires the incumbent to:
- Follow safety requirements for the role
- Wear required PPE (eye protection, noise protection, etc.) when inside plant environment, or where directed by signage
- Lift up to 10 pounds
- Walk safely in and around industrial areas
- Work under deadline pressure within an environment that demands attention to safety and detail
- Sit or stand for extended periods of time
- Work at computer for significant periods of time throughout the day
