Job summary

Crystal Group, Inc. seeks a motivated intern in mechanical engineering to assist in design, development and verification of mechanical components and assemblies for harsh environments.

You will work on sheet-metal and machined parts, and help integrate mechanical and electrical subsystems in a hands-on, on-site setting in Iowa. Strong CAD tools experience (AutoCAD, Inventor) is preferred, with exposure to 3D design and basic FEA/CFD concepts.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Experience with CAD software such as AutoCAD or Inventor is preferred.
• Willingness to work in an on-site environment with occasional floor exposure.

Together we use a *zero limits* approach to wow our customers. **Job Summary**This position is responsible for the design, development, verification of assigned mechanical components to include sheet-metal / machined-metal parts and assemblies, and theoretical mechanical concepts required to integrate mechanical and electrical components into one assembly. **Essential Functions*** Maintains an extensive working knowledge of Crystal Group’s mechanical design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Inventor) for efficient conversion of technical requirements into schematic diagrams and assembly drawings.* Maintains an extensive understanding of metal parts machining, fabrication, and assembly processes.* Maintains a working knowledge of packaging techniques applied to high performance electronics for use in harsh and demanding environments.* Maintains a working knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the design field.
