Job summary

Cleco is seeking a Marketing Intern in Louisiana to assist the Economic Development, Governmental Affairs, and Marketing teams with research, stakeholder engagement, customer communications, and special projects. You will gain hands-on exposure to marketing initiatives and community relations while supporting business growth and customer satisfaction.

The role involves data gathering, preparing marketing materials, coordinating events, and collaborating across departments.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, Political Science, Public Relations, Engineering, Communications, or related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to conduct research and present findings clearly.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
• Demonstrates initiative, professionalism, and willingness to learn.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Assist with industry, market, economic, legislative, and community research projects to support departmental initiatives.
• Gather, organize, and analyze data for reports, presentations, and project summaries.
• Assist in preparing marketing materials, information packets, and customer communications.
• Support coordination of meetings, stakeholder events, community outreach activities, and customer visits.
• Maintain records, databases, project files, and customer or stakeholder information
• Assist with responding to customer, community, and stakeholder inquiries under supervision.
• Collaborate with internal departments including engineering, operations, customer service, communications, and governmental affairs on assigned projects
• Participate in special projects and presentations that support business development, economic growth, and community partnership objectives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The intern will gain practical experience while contributing to projects that support business growth, customer satisfaction, and community engagement.
