Job summary

Hypertherm Associates in New Hampshire offers a Summer Internship as a Manufacturing Process Engineer Intern for May-August 2027. You will join a hands-on team focused on continuous improvement to make industrial cutting safer, more cost-effective, and accurate.

Responsibilities include leading Lean and Six Sigma projects, optimizing processes, and designing tooling for production cells, with exposure to CNC, laser marking, and packaging equipment.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in engineering-focused degree program (industrial/mechanical engineering preferred).
• Junior (you have completed a minimum of 2 years) and in good standing.
• Enthusiastic about learning with the ability to work collaboratively in a team, as well as independently on selected projects.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with a passion for root-cause analysis.
• Proactive and enthusiastic about implementing new technology and continuous improvement.

Join us in New Hampshire for the Summer of 2027 as a Manufacturing Process Engineer Intern at Hypertherm Associates! Key Responsibilities

• Lead process improvement projects using Lean and Six Sigma practices
• Optimize manufacturing processes to enhance quality, reduce costs, improve safety, and increase earnings

Required Knowledge, Skills, Education, And Experience

• Currently enrolled in an engineering-focused college degree program (industrial/mechanical engineering preferred)

Preferred Experience That Differentiates You

• Internship or co-op experience in a manufacturing environment
• Proficiency in lean manufacturing, statistical analysis (Minitab), geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), SolidWorks, value stream mapping (VSM), design for manufacturability (DFM), process failure mode effects analysis (pFMEA), and structured problem solving
