ENERCON’s Nuclear Design Group invites engineering interns to join our Kennesaw, GA office and gain hands-on experience in control systems for energy infrastructure.

Ideal candidates are pursuing Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with ABET-accredited programs, with coursework in circuits, power systems, and control systems. You will work in a collaborative team on meaningful energy projects and may travel to client sites.

Qualifications

  • ABET-accredited bachelor’s or master’s degree required in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Preferred coursework: Circuit Analysis, Power Systems, and Control Systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willing to travel and work outdoors on job sites.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Able to climb stairs and ladders and navigate client sites.

Responsabilités

  • Assist design, development, and maintenance of control systems for energy infrastructure.
  • Support energy projects from nuclear to renewable energy environments.
  • Collaborate with engineers on project delivery and documentation.
  • Learn industry practices and contribute to safety and quality initiatives.

What are skills that would be helpful to your success as an intern?
  • Graduating with a bachelor’s or master’s degree from an ABET‑accredited school in one of our listed preferred majors.
  • Preferred grad date between December 2027 and June 2028.
  • Available to start on an agreed upon date between May 2027 and June 2027.
  • Preferred Courses: Circuit Analysis (could be called Circuits I, Circuits II, Intro to Circuits, etc.), Power Systems (could be called Electric Power, Electric Machines, Power Systems, Power Engineering, etc.), and Control Systems.
  • A solid working foundation with your major's core concepts.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite.
  • Excellent writing, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to be an individual contributor and work effectively in teams.
  • Ability to effectively problem solve.
  • Must be able to climb stairs and ladders at client sites.
  • Must be able to effectively navigate client sites to conduct walkdowns.
  • Must be able to work outside.
  • Ability and willingness to travel for client and company projects and/or meetings.
Interview and Employment Requirements:
  • Completion of pre interview assessments.
  • College transcript submitted for anyone under 1 year of experience post‑graduation.
  • Ability to pass pre‑employment and random drug and alcohol screenings, ENERCON and client‑specific background checks, and annual motor vehicle record (MVR) checks according to company and client policies.
  • ENERCON does not provide sponsorship now or in the future.
