Job summary

L3Harris Technologies is seeking an Intern, Industrial Engineer for on-site work in Waco, Texas. The internship runs on a 4/10 schedule (Monday–Thursday) to support manufacturing operations, with exposure to LEAN projects and process improvements.

Responsibilities include assisting in labor standards audits, operations analysis and capital expenditure evaluation, while gaining experience with workflow, layout and reports.

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science, quality engineering, manufacturing engineering, quality management or related field.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of industrial engineering tasks to gain experience with manufacturing operations, programs, methods and practices.
• Conducts operation analysis, variance analysis and studies for method improvements.
• Assists in auditing labor standards for accuracy.
• Assists in economic evaluation of suggestions and method improvement studies.
• Prepares work flow, layout, sequence, manpower and related charts, graphs and reports.
• Assists in capital expenditure analysis, justification and forecast.
• Assists in plant and office space planning for efficient utilization.
• Helps develop LEAN implementation plans and process improvements.
• No required travel.
