Job summary

WEC Energy Group, through WEC Business Services LLC, seeks an HR Labor Relations Intern in Milwaukee, WI for Summer 2027. The internship is full-time during the season with an hourly rate of $21.30 and paid company holidays.

The intern will support Employee/Labor Relations activities within a unionized environment, assist with grievance documentation, analyze data, and participate in meetings and investigations. Travel within Southeast WI is infrequent.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or HSED.
• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial/Labor Relations, HR Management, Business Administration or related field with graduation after June 2027.
• Minimum GPA of 2.8.
• Valid Driver's License.

Job Summary

The Human Resources intern will gain hands‑on experience supporting Employee/Labor Relations activities within a unionized work environment. The position will provide opportunities to research labor agreements, assist with grievance and disciplinary documentation, analyze employee/ labor related data, participate in meetings and investigations, and help identify opportunities to improve the Employee/ Labor Relations processes. The intern will also support the organization in capturing and organizing institutional knowledge. This role is designed to provide a practical understanding of how Employee/Labor Relations supports business objectives. Students work with experienced members of the team.

Job Responsibilities

• Support staff on projects while developing skills, technical expertise, interpersonal and communication skills, and Employee/Labor Relations skills
• Build working knowledge within Employee/ Labor Relations through exposure to a variety of daily tasks, and projects
• Infrequent travel required within Southeast WI

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or HSED
• Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Industrial/Labor Relations, Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Business Analytics or closely related discipline with a graduation date after June 2027
• Minimum GPA of 2.8
• Valid Drivers License

Pay Range Minimum: $21.30

Pay Range Maximum: $24.60

The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. The starting salary/pay within the pay range will be based on several factors, as applicable, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and business and organizational needs.
