Job summary

WEC Energy Group's Milwaukee operation is seeking a Intern - HR Labor Relations to gain hands-on experience in a unionized environment during the Summer of 2027. The intern will research labor agreements, assist with grievance documentation, analyze data, participate in meetings and investigations, and help improve Employee/Labor Relations processes.

Students work with experienced team members and will support capturing institutional knowledge.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or HSED.
• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial/Labor Relations, HR, Business Administration or closely related discipline with a graduation date after June 2027.
• Minimum GPA of 2.8.
• Valid Drivers License.

Responsibilities

• Support staff on projects while developing skills, technical expertise, interpersonal and communication skills, and Employee/Labor Relations skills
• Build working knowledge within Employee/ Labor Relations through exposure to a variety of daily tasks, and projects
• Infrequent travel required within Southeast WI

Job Summary

The Human Resources intern will gain hands‑on experience supporting Employee/Labor Relations activities within a unionized work environment. The position will provide opportunities to research labor agreements, assist with grievance and disciplinary documentation, analyze employee/ labor related data, participate in meetings and investigations, and help identify opportunities to improve the Employee/ Labor Relations processes. The intern will also support the organization in capturing and organizing institutional knowledge. This role is designed to provide a practical understanding of how Employee/Labor Relations supports business objectives. Students work with experienced members of the team.

The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. The starting salary/pay within the pay range will be based on several factors, as applicable, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and business and organizational needs.
