Kohler Co. offers a 6-month, onsite Intern - Food & Beverage at Blackwolf Run in Kohler, WI. The role runs May through October and covers both Front of House and Back of House operations with rotation across outlets.

You will participate in service, training, inventory management, scheduling, and special projects such as menu development and dining events, while learning cost controls and guest satisfaction practices.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled at a college or university seeking a degree in Hospitality or Resort Management.
• Previous Food & Beverage experience is preferred.
• Must be 18 or older.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the restaurant floor and lead communication between FOH & BOH.
• Monitor and execute food & beverage orders, ensure quality and presentation.
• Train in all restaurant positions to understand BOH and FOH roles.
• Learn scheduling, cash handling, office reporting and social media.
• Assist outlet manager with forecasting, scheduling, payroll & labor controls.
• Lead opening and closing procedures of assigned outlets.
• Manage inventory, minimize waste, and conduct counts.
• Assist management with special assignments and staff meetings.
• Perform daily administrative tasks including purchasing, ordering, invoicing, and filing.
• Reconcile guest receipts and vendor invoices.
• Support cost controls and inventory levels with staff and management.

Opportunity

Destination Kohler Food & Beverage interns will rotatearound our various outlets focusing on both Front of the House and Back of theHouse operations. Interns will have the opportunity to see all aspects ofF&B Operations including service, associate training, inventory management,associate management, operating procedures, and will have exposure toparticipating in projects such as menu development and specials dinning events.

Specific Responsibilities

• Monitor the restaurant floor & leading communication between FOH & BOH.
• Monitor and execute all food and beverage orders and ensure the quality and appearance of the presentation.
• Train in all positions of the restaurants in order to have a better understanding of each position including both BOH and FOH.
• Learn how to write schedules, handle cash, office reporting and Social Media.
• Assist the outlet manager with cover forecasting, scheduling, payroll & labor controls.
• Lead opening and closing procedures of assigned outlet.
• Manage inventory levels to include: daily product requisition requests, minimizing waste and spoilage, and conducting inventory counts.
• Assist department managers with any special assignments.
• Conduct pre-shift meetings for the AM & PM staff members.
• Attend weekly Food & Beverage staff meetings and/or team meetings as needed.
• Assist management with daily administrative tasks including but not limited to purchasing, ordering, invoicing, scheduling, records control and filing.
• Assist in reconciling all operational paperwork including but not limited to guest receipts and vendor invoices.
• Work with staff and management team to ensure proper cost controls and inventory levels.
• Coordinate with restaurant staff to ensure smooth operation and guest satisfaction.
• Assist with food and beverage service per the course of order.
• Observes guests and ensure their satisfaction with the food and service.
• Promptly respond to guest with any additional request.
• Help other areas of the restaurant.
• Training restaurant front of house staff.
• Assist with overseeing the dining room flow and ensuring proper distribution of assigned stations.
• Resolve escalated guest concerns.
• Create and execute special projects and assignments.
• Assist in answering telephone calls from guests.
• Perform the responsibilities of Servers, Bartenders, and Host/ess as needed.

This is a part-time position, working weekdays and weekends with shifts varying between 6:00 am and 11:00 pm.

Skills/Requirements

• Must be enrolled at a college or university seeking a degree in Hospitality or Resort Management
• Previous Food & Beverage experience is preferred
• Must be 18 or older

The hourly rate for this position is $12.80 - $20.00. The specific hourly rate offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including candidate's education and work location.
