Job summary

Dominion Energy in Glen Allen, VA is seeking a project-oriented intern to support Electric Transmission project activities. You will assist with coordination, scheduling, data gathering, status tracking, and internal communication under guidance of project advisors.

Tasks include preparing project materials, updating trackers, organizing notes, and assisting with budget and schedule monitoring as you gain responsibility.

Job Summary

This internship supports Electric Transmission project activities under the guidance of project advisors and experienced team members. The role assists with project coordination, documentation, scheduling support, data gathering, status tracking, and communication with internal stakeholders. Responsibilities may include helping prepare project materials, updating project trackers, organizing meeting notes, supporting budget and schedule monitoring, and assisting with basic research or analysis related to transmission projects. The position is intended to provide exposure to project management practices, utility operations, cross-functional collaboration, and the planning and execution of Electric Transmission projects. Work is performed with direction and review, with increasing responsibility as knowledge and experience develop.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

• Entry-level work experience, internship experience, or coursework related to engineering, construction management, telecommunication, business, project management, energy, or a related field preferred.
• Basic understanding of project coordination, scheduling, documentation, data tracking, or business processes preferred.
• Ability to learn Electric Transmission project management processes, terminology, systems, and safety-focused work practices.
• Skills: verbal and written communication; attention to detail; organization; Microsoft Office proficiency; ability to summarize information clearly; willingness to ask questions and seek guidance.
• Abilities: manage assigned tasks; follow established processes; work collaboratively with team members and stakeholders; adapt to changing priorities; maintain accurate records; demonstrate curiosity and accountability.

Education Requirements

• Candidate must be a full-time pursuing a 4-year degree in Business, Project Management, or related program.
• Must have a graduation date of Spring 2028 or later.
• Must have a 2.5 GPA or above.
