Job summary

USA Lacrosse is seeking an intern to support our eCommerce & Retail operations, working closely with the SR Manager to assist with tasks, reporting, content updates, and event prep to grow revenue and brand consistency. You will gain exposure to digital commerce, merchandising, and inventory management while contributing to an excellent customer experience.

Qualifications

  • Current student pursuing a bachelor's degree, preferably in business, marketing, communications, or related field.
  • Ability to dedicate 15-30 hours per week.
  • Strong interest in eCommerce, retail, or digital marketing in the sports industry.
  • Intermediate MS 365 tools with basic data analysis and organization.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily operational management of the online store, including product uploads, product descriptions, pricing updates, and reviewing merchandising collections.
  • Provide administrative support to the eCommerce and retail operations, including website updates, QA testing, inventory management, data reporting, and invoice tracking.
  • Conduct basic analysis of retail sales performance around promotions and discounts.
  • Assist with onsite retail sales for events at the HQ office.

POSITION SUMMARY

USA Lacrosse is looking for an intern to work with our eCommerce & Retail department. The Intern, eCommerce & Retail operations will work closely with the SR Manager, eCommerce & Retail to assist with operational tasks, reporting, content updates, and event preparation to directly support revenue growth, operational efficiency, and brand consistency while growing USA Lacrosse's presence across all touchpoints. In this hands‑on role you will gain exposure to digital commerce, merchandising, inventory management, and how to ensure an exceptional customer experience.

A Typical Day Looks Like…
  • Assists with the daily operational management of the USA Lacrosse online store, including product uploads, product descriptions, pricing updates, and reviewing and organizing merchandising collections.
  • Provides administrative support to the eCommerce and retail operations, including but not limited to, maintaining and updating the website, helping with QA testing, supporting inventory management, compiling data for reporting, and supporting invoice tracking and payments.
  • Conducts basic analysis of retail sales performance, specifically around promotions and discounts to help us understand performance.
  • Researches trends and best practices on competitors in the sport apparel, fan merchandise industry and provides findings to the SR Manager, eCommerce & Retail.
  • Assists with onsite retail sales for events at the HQ office.

    • What did you learn about USA Lacrosse.
    • What did you learn about your field of study and the responsibilities of the department you worked in.
    • Explain your roles and responsibilities and talk about any project(s) you did.
    • Reflect on skills and work habits you learn that you will take with you as you start your career.
Is This You…
  • Current student pursuing a bachelor’s degree, preferably in business, marketing, communications, or related field. Eligibility to earn college credit for internship a plus.
  • Ability to dedicate 15-30 hours per week. This includes the ability to work onsite at USA Lacrosse’s headquarters office in Sparks, MD, including some nights and weekends.
  • Strong interest in eCommerce, retail, or digital marketing in the sports industry.
  • Intermediate computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft 365 products, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint with comfort working with spreadsheets for basic data analysis and organization.
  • Enthusiastic go-getter with a “roll up your sleeves” and “get it done” attitude.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Must have a demonstrated understanding of social media platforms, their unique audiences, and how to use them to maximize engagement efforts.
  • Must possess a strong customer first attitude.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast‑paced, dynamic, cross‑functional team working toward a common goal.
  • Flexibility with your work schedule, including the ability to work nights and weekends based on event needs.

Expected Hours of Work

This position is generally expected to work part-time (15 to 30 hours per week) during the work week (Monday through Friday) between the hours of 8:30am to 5:00pm with occasional work on nights and/or weekends based on event and business needs. This is a hybrid position and works from the headquarters office in Sparks, MD three (3) days a week with the flexibility to work from home two (2) days a week.

Compensation & Benefits Overview

The hourly pay rate for this job is $15 per hour.
