Job summary

Corning Inc. in Charlotte, NC, is seeking a Digital Marketing Intern to support the Optical Communications business in executing the omni-channel digital strategy, creating digital stories via email and social campaigns, and developing our digital content plan.

You will document best practices, develop processes, and work on meaningful projects with weekly tech talks and community involvement. This internship runs for 10 weeks in Summer 2027, with housing/travel assistance provided in some cases.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field.
• Experience with SEO/SEM, Google Analytics, social media management, marketing automation, and content management platforms is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, strong interpersonal skills, and ability to manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Website: analyze the customer buying journey and develop content plan to optimize engagement and leads (conversion).
• SEO/SEM: keyword research, on-page optimization, content development, and manage search ads.
• Social Media: support the digital programs team and document best practices.
• Email Marketing: develop email communications with marketing automation and document templates.
• Analytics: review data, research trends, and recommend improvements to the digital journey.
• Special Projects: contribute to strategic marketing initiatives.

Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Scope of Position

The Digital Marketing Intern will support the Optical Communications business in executing the omni-channel digital strategy, development of compelling digital stories via email and social campaigns, development of our digital content plan, documenting best practices, and creating processes as needed for the organization.

Requirements

• Actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field
• Experience with digital platforms such as a SEO/SEM, Google Analytics, Social Media Management Platform, Marketing Automation Platform & Content Management Platform is a plus.
• Strong verbal/written skills and excellent interpersonal and phone skills to communicate effectively with external and internal customers.
• Proven analytical, organizational, and process skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility facing new challenges, opportunities, process & technologies.
• Must be available for 10 weeks during Summer 2027 (May-August 2027) with a graduation date of December 2026 or later
• Be interested in working for Corning, Inc after graduation, if presented with a full-time job opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

• Website: Analyze the customer buying journey on our web properties to define, develop, and implement a content plan to optimize engagement and conversion to prospects (leads)
• Search engine optimization and advertising: Perform keyword research, on-page optimization, strategic content development and manage search ads to capture traffic from SERPs.
• Social Media: Support the digital programs team to execute against our social media strategy working with the team to define and document best practices, streamline templates, etc.
• Email Marketing: Collaborate with marketing automation experts to develop email communications that meet the needs of the customer to increase engagement rates. Work with team to define and document best practices, streamline templates, etc.
• Reporting/Analytics: Review current data and analytics, research industry best practices and make recommendations on how to make improvements to our digital buying journey.
• Special Projects: Will be asked to contribute to and support additional strategic marketing initiatives as they emerge.

The range for this position is$1,635.00 - $3,185.00biweekly. Starting pay for the successful applicant is prescribed based on geographic location, nature of position, and year in school.
