Responsibilities

• Assist with development and implementation of fundraising activities, logistics, and administrative support for the Bay Area market.
• Support fundraising campaigns with Development and Operations teams.
• Assist with event auctions; outreach for donations; organizing items.
• Organize and plan health education events for companies.
• Assist with pre-campaign planning, day-of-event execution, and post-campaign wrap-up.
• Make external calls and emails to donors, volunteers, and third-party vendors.
• Work within event support systems to manage data entry and reports.
• Develop and update marketing materials (save the dates, invitations, social posts, volunteer rosters).
• Assist with volunteer management including meetings (in-person and virtual).
• Conduct prospect research to generate new leads for campaigns.

We have an exciting opportunity for an intern on our Bay Area Development Team. As an intern supporting our fundraising campaigns, you will play a key role in driving engagement and participation, ensuring a positive experience for supporters. Your responsibilities will include a variety of tasks that contribute to the fundraising, planning, execution, logistics, and follow‑up of life‑saving initiatives.

Internship Overview:

• Time Commitment: 20-25 hours per week
• Internship Duration: 9/8/26-12/11/2626
• Location: Bay Area (Oakland), CA (hybrid office/home)
• Salary: $23.00 per hour

Responsibilities

• Responsibilities include assisting with the development and implementation of fundraising activities, logistics, and administrative support for the Bay Area market.
• Work with the Development and Operations teams to support fundraising campaigns.
• Assist with event auction. Doing outreach for donations, organizing items, etc.
• Organize and plan health education events for companies.
• Assistance with pre‑campaign planning, day of event execution, and post‑campaign wrap‑up projects.
• Execute external calls and emails to donors, volunteers, and 3rd party vendors.
• Work within event support systems to help manage data entry and run reports.
• Develop and update marketing materials for campaigns including save the dates, invitations, social media posts, volunteer rosters, and other needed collateral to assist in campaign promotion.
• Assist with volunteer management including prepping for and attending externally facing meetings (both in‑person and virtual.)
• Conduct prospect research to generate new leads and compile information for fundraising campaigns.

Qualifications

• Candidates who are seniors or graduate students pursuing a degree in business, nonprofit management, sales, marketing, event planning, public relations, or public health with a fundraising focus.
• Must be comfortable with outreach and public speaking (phone calls & emails to vendors & donors as well as giving presentations).
• Experience/interest in promotion, sales, or fundraising.
• Experience with event planning.
• Demonstrated skills in effective one‑on‑one and group communications and comfort with working professionally with all levels of community leaders, volunteers, and staff.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment managing multiple priorities involving multiple entities.
• Intermediate to excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office and Canva.
• Required Equipment: Reliable WiFi Connection.
• Must have reliable transportation or access to major public transportation.
• Minimum availability of 20 hrs/wk, M-F between the hours of 8:30am-5pm.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship, now or in the future. For any roles working remotely, the work must also be performed inside the United States, not in a foreign country.
