Job summary

Baker Hughes is offering a University Internships: Manufacturing opportunity for students pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s degree. This internship provides hands-on manufacturing exposure, training, and mentoring across HS&E culture and diversity initiatives.

You will assist with daily operations, participate in quality control, and analyze data to drive improvements in processes, efficiency, and cost. Relocation may be required for the duration of the internship.

Qualifications

• Be enrolled in a Bachelors’ or Masters’ level degree in Engineering, Technology, Mechanics, other STEM-related or business related program.
• GPA ≥ 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or equivalent.
• Fluent in oral and written English with effective communication skills.
• Be able to relocate for the duration of your internship (locations vary).
• Authorized to work in the United States without future sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the day-to-day manufacturing operations, including monitoring equipment, overseeing processes, and ensuring production goals are met.
• Participating in quality control and quality assurance processes, inspecting products for defects, and ensuring they meet industry standards and company specifications.
• Identifying opportunities for process optimization, efficiency improvements, and cost reduction in manufacturing operations.
• Collecting and analyzing data related to manufacturing processes, equipment performance, and product quality.
• Learning and applying lean manufacturing principles to minimize waste, improve efficiency, and enhance productivity.
• Preparing reports, work instructions, and process documentation to ensure consistency and adherence to best practices.
• Applying HS&E standards and procedures to ensure compliance is maintained.

As an Intern, you will be responsible for:

• Be currently enrolled in a Bachelors’ or Masters’ level degree in Engineering, Technology, Mechanics, other STEM-related or business related program.
• Have maintained a GPA grade greater than or equal to 3.0 out of 4.0 or the equivalent in your country
• Be fluent in oral and written English and have effective communication skills
• Be able to relocate for the duration of your internship (locations vary)
• Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States and must maintain work authorization throughout their employment without requiring sponsorship by Baker Hughes, now or in the future.

The hourly rate range for this position is $22-$44
