Job summary

Baker Hughes is offering a University Internship in Manufacturing for January 2027, lasting 24 weeks in the United States. You'll work on day-to-day operations, quality control, data collection, and lean improvements under experienced mentors.

You must be enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Engineering, Technology, Mechanics, STEM or business, maintain a 3.0+ GPA, and be fluent in English. US work authorization is required.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Technology, Mechanics, STEM-related or business-related program.
• GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent).
• Fluent in spoken and written English.
• Willing to relocate for the duration of the internship.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day manufacturing operations, monitoring equipment and processes to meet production goals.
• Participate in quality control and assurance, inspecting products and ensuring standards.
• Identify opportunities for process optimization, efficiency improvements and cost reductions.
• Collect and analyze data on manufacturing processes, equipment performance and product quality.
• Learn and apply lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste and improve productivity.
• Prepare reports, work instructions and process documentation for consistency and best practices.
• Apply HS&E standards to ensure compliance.

As an Intern, you will be responsible for:

• Assisting with the day-to-day manufacturing operations, which may include monitoring equipment, overseeing processes, and ensuring production goals are met.
• Participating in quality control and quality assurance processes, inspecting products for defects, and ensuring they meet industry standards and company specifications.
• Identifying opportunities for process optimization, efficiency improvements, and cost reduction in manufacturing operations.
• Collecting and analyzing data related to manufacturing processes, equipment performance, and product quality.
• Learning and applying principles of lean manufacturing to minimize waste, improve efficiency, and enhance productivity.
• Preparing reports, work instructions, and process documentation to ensure consistency and adherence to best practices.
• Applying Health, Safety, and Environment (HS&E) standards and procedures in all situations to ensure compliance is maintained

To be successful in this role you will:

• Be currently enrolled in a Bachelors' or Masters' level degree in Engineering, Technology, Mechanics, other STEM-related or business related program.
• Have maintained a GPA grade greater than or equal to 3.0 out of 4.0 or the equivalent in your country
• Be fluent in oral and written English and have effective communication skills
• Be able to relocate for the duration of your internship (locations vary)
• Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States and must maintain work authorization throughout their employment without requiring sponsorship by Baker Hughes, now or in the future.

The hourly rate range for this position is $22-$44
