Baker Hughes invites enrolled students to join our Finance Internship Program for 2027 in Houston. You will gain hands-on experience across financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting within a global energy company’s finance team.

You will work under mentorship, participate in project work, and contribute to real-world financial deliverables while learning about HS&E standards and company culture.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related business program.
• GPA ≥ 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or equivalent.
• Fluent in English with strong written and verbal communication.
• Willing to relocate for the duration of the internship; US work authorization without sponsorship.
• Authorized to work in the United States for the duration.

Responsibilities

• Assist in financial analysis tasks, including analyzing financial statements, budget variances, and performance metrics.
• Participate in budgeting and forecasting processes, including data collection, modelling, and variance analysis.
• Prepare financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Assist with internal and external audits by providing requested financial information and supporting procedures.
• Utilize financial software and spreadsheet tools to perform analysis and reporting tasks.
• Apply HS&E standards and procedures to ensure compliance.

You’ll participate in focused training, and team meetings, work on projects, and present your results. During your internship, you will be supported by a buddy and your manager who will ensure you have a valuable learning experience. You can expect to receive coaching and mentoring to enable you to complete assignments and projects to develop your learning and skillset.

As an Intern, you will be responsible for:

• Assisting in financial analysis tasks, such as analyzing financial statements, budget variances, and performance metrics to provide insights to management.
• Participating in the budgeting and forecasting processes, including data collection, modelling, and variance analysis.
• Preparing financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, to provide accurate financial information to stakeholders.
• Assisting with internal and external audits by providing requested financial information and supporting audit procedures.
• Utilizing financial software and tools, such as accounting software or spreadsheet applications, to perform financial analysis and reporting tasks.
• Applying Health, Safety, and Environment (HS&E) standards and procedures in all situations to ensure compliance is maintained

To be successful in this role you will:

• Be currently enrolled in a Bachelors' or Masters' level degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or business related program.
• Have maintained a GPA grade greater than or equal to 3.0 out of 4.0 or the equivalent in your country
• Be fluent in oral and written English and have effective communication skills
• Be able to relocate for the duration of your internship (locations vary)
• Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States and must maintain work authorization throughout their employment without requiring sponsorship by Baker Hughes, now or in the future.

The hourly rate range for this position is $22-$29
