Job summary

Baker Hughes invites students to apply for the University Internships: Project Management program for 2027. The internship provides hands-on work experience with focus on developing project plans, schedules, budgets, and risk mitigation in a global energy company.

You will be supported by a buddy and manager, receive coaching, and gain exposure to HS&E practices while learning how to deliver projects with flawless execution. Authorization to work in the United States is required.

Qualifications

• Be enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program (Engineering, Technology, STEM-related, or business).
• Maintain GPA ≥ 3.0 on 4.0 scale or equivalent.
• Fluent in English, both spoken and written, and have good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing project plans, timelines, and milestones with project managers and teams.
• Maintain project documentation including charters, schedules, budgets, and progress reports.
• Identify potential risks and help develop mitigation strategies.
• Prepare regular status reports for managers and stakeholders highlighting progress and issues.
• Apply HS&E standards to ensure compliance.

You'll participate in focused training, and team meetings, work on projects, and present your results. During your internship, you will be supported by a buddy and your manager who will ensure you have a valuable learning experience. You can expect to receive coaching and mentoring to enable you to complete assignments and projects to develop your learning and skillset.

As an Intern, you will be responsible for:

• Assisting in the development of project plans, timelines, and milestones in collaboration with project managers and teams.
• Maintaining project documentation, including project charters, schedules, budgets, and progress reports.
• Identifying potential project risks and assisting in developing risk mitigation strategies.
• Preparing regular project status reports for project managers and stakeholders, highlighting progress, issues, and upcoming milestones.
• Applying Health, Safety, and Environment (HS&E) standards and procedures in all situations to ensure compliance is maintained

To be successful in this role you will:

• Be currently enrolled in a Bachelors' or Masters' level degree in Engineering, Technology, other STEM-related or business related program.
• Have maintained a GPA grade greater than or equal to 3.0 out of 4.0 or the equivalent in your country
• Be fluent in oral and written English and have effective communication skills
• Be able to relocate for the duration of your internship (locations vary)
• Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States and must maintain work authorization throughout their employment without requiring sponsorship by Baker Hughes, now or in the future.

The hourly rate range for this position is $22-$44
