Job summary

H.F. Lenz Company in Johnstown, PA is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern to work on-site at our headquarters. You will gain hands-on experience in civil design, assisting with land development and site surveying, and collaborating with multi-discipline engineering teams.

You will become proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D and related software, perform basic calculations, and participate in surveys and design reviews while learning from senior staff in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited Civil Engineering program.
• Knowledge of 2D and 3D modeling, including Civil 3D.
• Proficiency with basic computer software (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Academic coursework relevant to civil design.
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support a variety of civil design tasks.
• Learn basic principles of civil design, focused on land development and site surveying.
• Function as part of the design team and utilize engineering design and survey concepts.
• Become an expert with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Perform basic engineering calculations.
• Assist in engineering related studies and surveys.
• Coordinate designs with multiple-disciplinary project teams.
• Travel to project sites and assist with surveys.
