Job summary

Paycom is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern to support site civil and land development projects in our Omaha, NE office for Summer 2027. Ideal candidates will be advancing in Civil Engineering, have 2+ years toward a Bachelor's, and be eager to learn in a collaborative design environment with engineers, designers, and project teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of satisfactory progress toward a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; completion of 3 years toward degree preferred.
• Minimum GPA: 3.0 preferred.
• Interest in site civil and land development design (grading, drainage, utilities, stormwater, paving, erosion control, construction plan preparation).
• Coursework or projects in civil design, surveying, hydrology/hydraulics, transportation, construction materials, or land development preferred.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred; MS Office, Bluebeam, GIS or stormwater modeling software a plus.

Job Details: Level: Entry, Job Location: Omaha, NE 68154, Position Type: Internship, CIVIL ENGINEERING INTERN – SITE CIVIL / LAND DEVELOPMENT

We have a Summer 2027 opportunity in our Omaha office for a Civil Engineering Intern focused on general site civil and land development projects. The right candidate will have completed at least their second year in a Civil Engineering program and be interested in supporting design teams on commercial, residential, municipal, educational, and mixed-use development projects. Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of satisfactory progress toward a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; completion of 3 years toward degree preferred.
• Minimum GPA: 3.0 preferred.
• Interest in site civil and land development design, including grading, drainage, utilities, stormwater management, paving, erosion control, and construction plan preparation.
• Coursework or project experience in civil engineering design, surveying, hydrology/hydraulics, transportation, construction materials, or land development preferred.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred; experience with Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, GIS, drainage or stormwater modeling software, or other civil design tools is a plus.
• Solid written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document design decisions, ask thoughtful questions, and coordinate with team members. Classes or experience with presentations, technical writing, or construction observation are a plus.
