The Options Clearing Corporation (OCC) invites applications for a year‑round internship in Dallas, focused on building and maintaining automation testing frameworks for risk systems. You’ll work in an Agile team, contributing to Java code, CI/CD pipelines, and secure software practices under guidance.

Eligible students are rising seniors or early graduates, pursuing BS/MS in a technical field. The role supports in‑person collaboration in a hybrid setting with potential remote days and does not

Qualifications

• Foundational Java programming skills and basic object‑oriented design.
• Exposure to concurrency concepts and Spring Boot through coursework or projects.
• Familiarity with Kafka concepts and basic message serialization formats is a plus.
• Experience with AWS services (S3) and writing SQL queries in PostgreSQL.
• Basic Git workflows and willingness to learn CI/CD tooling like Jenkins.
• Interest in AI‑assisted development tools for code generation and testing under guidance.

Responsibilities

• Write clean Java code under supervision and assist in debugging.
• Contribute to automation testing framework features and tooling.
• Participate in code reviews to learn best practices.
• Gain exposure to secure software delivery practices with tools like SonarQube, Snyk, Veracode, and Black Duck.
• Gain exposure to CI/CD using Jenkins and containerization with Docker, Harness, Rancher.
• Assist testing teams with basic troubleshooting of framework issues.
• Participate in design discussions and proof-of-concept efforts as learning opportunities.
• Communicate effectively in an Agile environment.
