Job summary

Labcorp in San Diego, CA seeks a Lab Intern for the Cytology/Histology team. The role offers an 11‑week, full‑time paid internship with a Monday–Friday schedule.

You will shadow professionals, assist with non‑testing tasks, and participate in mock testing under supervision, gaining real‑world lab experience. Eligibility includes current enrollment in a relevant bachelor’s degree program; strong attention to detail and communication are desired.

Responsibilities

• Shadow laboratory professionals and learn diagnostic workflows, instrumentation, and department operations.
• Assist with non-testing laboratory tasks, such as specimen organization, inventory, and workspace preparation.
• Participate in approved mock testing, demonstrations, and basic laboratory techniques under supervision.
• Support approved laboratory projects.
• Follow all safety and compliance standard operating procedures.

Labcorp is seeking a Lab Intern to join our Cytology/Histology team located in San Diego, CA.

Work Schedule

Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:00pm / 40hrs per week

Job Responsibilities

Internship Details

• Duration: 11 weeks, full‑time
• Dates of Internship: June 1st – August 13th, 2027
• Eligibility: Preferred candidates are rising juniors and seniors (Dec 2027 through June 2029 graduation) who are currently enrolled in a relevant degree program; however, all current students pursuing related studies are encouraged to apply.

• Pay Range: $17.75-22/hr

Benefits

Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan.
