Qualifications

  • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university.
  • Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in all weather.
  • Strong organizational and self-motivation skills.
  • Previous scouting experience required.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle.
  • Comfort with using a laptop, GPS software, and field equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Review scouting reports for accuracy of weed, disease, insect observations and growth data.
  • Provide agronomic and technical diagnostic support to interns remotely and on-site.
  • Coordinate weekly dispatch of fields and intern activities.
  • Work with Ag Tech Leads on special projects and events.
  • Attend weekly check-ins and intern events as scheduled.
  • Scout fields to assist with acreage completion each week.
  • Travel 100% within the territory; 60% in office, 40% in training/fields.

Position Overview

Agronomy Student Coordinators manage a team of regional Crop Technician Interns. Management duties include reviewing scouting reports, providing diagnostic field support, weekly dispatch of fields, and educating scouts throughout internship season. Other duties include working with Ag Tech Leads on special projects and attending weekly check-in meetings.

Duties and Responsibilities

Include but are not limited to

  • Review scouting reports to ensure accuracy of weed/disease/insect observations, growth staging, stand counts, nutrient deficiencies, and other field anomalies. This also includes grammatical accuracy.
  • Report observations to Ag Tech Leads.
  • Provide agronomic and technical diagnostic support to interns remotely and directly.
  • Work with Ag Tech Leads on special projects throughout summer.
  • Attend specialized intern events as scheduled.
  • Scout fields as necessary to assist with acre completion each week.
  • 100% travel in territory.
  • 60% in office, 40% in training/tours/fields.
  • Flexible work schedule.

Skills and Qualifications
  • Ability to work outdoors for extended periods of time and under all weather conditions.
  • Above average organizational skills, ability to understand new concepts, and learn quickly.
  • Complete work with little to no supervision in a timely manner; self-motivated.
  • Students with previous scouting experience required.
  • Must have a valid driver's license, good driving record, and reliable vehicle.
  • Ability to use laptop, iPad, GPS software, and field equipment.
Compensation
  • Hourly (competitive wage).
  • Mileage Reimbursement following IRS Standard Rate.
  • Drone license education and exam fee reimbursement.
