Job summary

Keystone Cooperative, Inc. is seeking Agronomist Support Interns to assist during the growing season with on-farm trials and product evaluation. The role includes field observations, data collection, scouting reports, and drone imagery analysis.

You will work with an agronomist on a special summer project and prepare an end-of-year presentation. This internship requires travel in the territory and is based out of a local location.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in accredited college or university.
• Agronomy major preferred or related field.

Responsibilities

• Make observations and collect data from on-farm trials and Keystone plots.
• Create scouting reports identifying weeds, insects, diseases, growth stages, stand counts, and product performance.
• Utilize drones to make aerial observations, produce imagery, and analyze data.
• Corn and soybean tissue for tissue testing.
• Perform soil moisture tests.
• Organize, place, and remove field signs for each trial.
• Shadow the agronomist and assist with field calls.
• Collaborate on a summer project and prepare end-of-year presentation.
• Travel 100% within territory; 60% in fields, 40% in training/tours/events.

Must have previous agronomy/field experience.Must have a valid driver’s license, good driving record, and reliable vehicle.Ability to use Microsoft, GPS Software, and field equipment.Compensation:Hourly (competitive wage).Mileage Reimbursement following IRS Standard Rate.Drone License education and exam fee reimbursement.Incentives/Awards for interns who complete internship.Education and Experience:Currently enrolled in accredited college or university.
